Radico Khaitan up 2% on Sensex; Q4 PAT declines 20% yoy

Consolidated net profit was at Rs32.67cr in the March 2020 (Q4FY20) period against Rs40.94cr in Q4FY19.

The liquor manufacturer, Radico Khaitan, witnessed a 20% decline in consolidated net profit to Rs32.67cr in the March 2020 (Q4FY20) period against Rs40.94cr in the corresponding period of the previous year. The quantum of the drop was much higher compared to Rs59.74cr in the preceding quarter.

On the other hand, consolidated revenue from operations stood at Rs2,209.11cr in Q4 up by 11.66% from Rs1,978.26cr in Q4FY19. However, revenue was lower from Rs2,011.64cr in Q3FY20.

In its financial audit report, Radico said, "The COVID -19 pandemic is rapidly spreading throughout the world. Group's bottling facilities and offices were under nationwide lockdown, and operations temporarily suspended, since March 24. 2020. However, the ENA manufacturing plant remained partially operational till March 31. 2020 and subsequent period. Presently the plant operations are at full capacity. From May 04, 2020, the bottling facilities have become operational with necessary safety regulations."

Because of the lockdown, Radico added, "the volumes for the month of March 2020 has impacted partially and there have been no sales in the month of April'20. From May 04, 2020, the sales have started with the partial opening of lockdown."

Radico further mentions that the company has sufficient liquidity and demand for its products to continue its operations.

For FY20, Radico's net profit and revenue stand at Rs229.13cr and Rs9,417.89cr against Rs194.13cr and Rs8,058cr respectively.

On Sensex, Radico's stock price was trading at Rs322.80 per piece up by 1.70% at around 3.08 pm.
