The batches for the new fresher’s course at MIST will begin from 15th July 2013
After receiving an overwhelming response for their advance training module for young professionals, MIST (Maya In-studio Training), is all set to launch the course for Fresher’s. MIST is a first of its kind initiative by leading Indian animation studio, Maya Digital Studios of Ketan Mehta, which provides young professionals an opportunity to work on live projects during the formative years of their career. The batches for the new fresher’s course at MIST will begin from 15th July 2013.
“The launch of MIST was a significant step by Maya Digital Studios, for the Indian animation & visual effects industry and we have successfully carved out advance, trained studio professionals through MIST, in its first year itself. At Maya we’ve always evolved with the times and kept pace with the best in the global trends in the animation & visual effects industry. Keeping in sync with this idea, the new Fresher’s course at MIST is a landmark step in the history of animation industry, all set to create never seen before standards for the industry. The Fresher’s course further fulfills our objective of creating the human resource eco-system that will drive the future of this industry”, said Ketan Mehta, the promoter and founder of Maya Digital Studios.
Speaking on this occasion, Aruna Kumar, head of MIST & the Studio Operations stated, “With our experience at MIST we realized that we had to ask the new joinee to first unlearn their learning at the training institutes and then teach them the way it actually works. Hence we decided it was better to take absolute fresher and train them in a proper way. This will not only save their time and money, but will also help them become a better professional and will fulfill our objective to create studio ready talent”.
The new fresher’s course at MIST fills the gaps between institute training & production. Students will be provided in-depth knowledge in photo-shop & Maya (Modeling, texturing, lighting, Rigging & Animation) for first three months. Candidates will then be examined for their interest area and their talent will be further nurtured as per their artistic inclination.
“Animation industry in India has opened up a plethora of opportunities for skillful aspirants. A trained individual can work as a Character Designer, Compositor, Digital link and paint artist, Key frame animator, 3D Modeler, Layout Artist, painter, visual artists amongst others. We identify this talent of the person in the first three months and then develop it further to create studio ready artists, who have the right blend of creativity & production skills”, further added Aruna.
Each batch consists of 15 seats only ensuring personalized attention to every student. Artists will be carefully handpicked at MIST, after a meticulous selection process, and the selected MIST interns will get to work on projects like Motu Patlu, Captain Vyom, The Centsables amongst others. Any graduate, undergraduate in any subject can take admission in MIST’s Fresher’s course after clearing the aptitude test and as per the Mentor’s / HOD’s one – on – one interaction.

We believe the interest rates are likely to have bottomed due to inflationary pressure, large government borrowings and normalizing credit growth. Hence rate sensitive sectors should be avoided in our view.
