Nifty above 11,900-mark; Larsen & Toubro Infotech ahead of Q2 nos

The Nifty IT index witnessed value buying after declining in the past three sessions.

IT Stocks Up
Benchmark indices were trading near day’s high on Tuesday after a slow start. The rally was led by banking stocks turning positive after a weak opening, however, FMCG and metal sectors continued to decline.

The BSE Sensex is trading at 40,687.33 up 255.73 points or 0.63% and the Nifty50 is currently trading at 111,941.05 up 68 points or 0.57%.

The market breadth was positive on the BSE, with 1186 shares rose and 1043 shares fell.

The Nifty IT index witnessed value buying after declining in the past three sessions. The index climbed 1.48% to 21,707. The index had lost 4.89% in the past four sessions. The IT index opened at 21,397.50 and hit a high 21,778 in Tuesday’s trade.

Shares of HCL Tech among top gainer on the IT index surged over 4%, Mindtree and Tech Mahindra climbed 2% each, Coforge rose over 1.9%.

TCS, Mphasis, Infosys and Wipro also up 1% each, however, LTI and Naukri were down in the IT index.

Larsen & Toubro Infotech declined 1.56%, ahead of its quarterly earnings release today.
