Nifty Media surges 2%; PVR, Jagran and Inox Leisure among top gainers

Dish TV, ZEEL, and Sun TV also outperformed while DB Corp was under pressure.

Nifty media stocks rose over 2% to support the markets amid bullish sentiments on Tuesday. Multiplexes owner company PVR led the gains followed by Jagran Prakashan while another multiplexes owner Inox Leisure also surged amid lowering Covid-19 cases and ease of restrictions in major cities in India.

Dish TV, ZEEL, and Sun TV also outperformed while DB Corp was under pressure.

Sensex crossed record high of 53k on Tuesday and at around 1.15 PM, BSE Sensex was trading at 53,026.62 up 146.62 points or 0.28% and Nifty50 at 15,887.95 up 53.60 points or 0.34%.

The Nifty Media was trading 1.95% higher at 1,856.05 up 35.55 points after touching a high of 1,861.70 during intraday trade on Tuesday.

PVR surged over 5% at Rs1,429.00 per piece to outperform along with Jagran which surged 3.36% at Rs67.75 per piece. Inox Leisure also was in the fast lane at Rs323.30, up 2.6%. Dish TV also gained over 2%. 

ZEEL advanced 1.67% to lift the spirits while Sun TV also gained over 1%. Network18 was also trading 0.5% higher.

DB Corp shed 1% at Rs110.50 per piece to emerge the laggard. TV18 Broadcast and TV Today also traded in the red.
