Nifty Pharma in the fast lane; Dr Reddy's outperforms by 4%

Pharma stocks were among the top performers during Monday's trading session, lifting overall benchmarks. At around 2.31 pm, Nifty Pharma was trading at 11,766.90 above 240.15 points or 2.08%. The index has also touched an intraday high of 11,835.65.

On the index, Dr Reddy's Laboratories was in the fast lane, trading at Rs4,842 per piece surging by Rs171.05 or 3.66%.

Dr Reddy's was joined by Alkem Laboratories (+3%), Aurobindo Pharma (+2.5%), Divis Lab (+2.3%) and Sun Pharma (+2.2%).

Meanwhile, Cadila Healthcare, Cipla, Lupin and Biocon surged by 1% each.

Torrent Pharma was the sole underperformer, down marginally on the index.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare today said, India’s present active caseload (4,43,486) is 4.85% of the total Positive Cases, and has been sustained below the 5% mark.

The ministry added, the Recovery Rate continues to be above 93% as 93.68% of all cases have recovered as of date. In the last 24 hours, the country registered 41,024 new recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the total recovered cases to 85,62,641.
