GE Shipping denies security incident report on ‘Jag Pooja’ vessel

GE Shipping said that ‘Jag Pooja’ was erroneously reported as being involved in the reported security incident in the PG region on 3rd August 2021.

The Great Eastern Shipping Company (GE Shipping) has clarified about its 'Jag Pooja', an oil products tanker.

Due to a reported security incident in the PG region, GE Shipping on Thursday clarified about Jag Pooja, saying that "our vessel is safe off Oman and is awaiting trading instructions."

GE Shipping said that ‘Jag Pooja’ was erroneously reported as being involved in the reported security incident in the PG region on 3rd August 2021.

"The ship was erroneously reported as being involved in the incident," GE Shipping said.

Thereby, GE Shipping says, "This is incorrect and we can also confirm that all our crew are safe and unharmed and the vessel is in readiness to proceed in the usual manner."

At around 2.31 pm, GE Shipping was trading at Rs 313.75 per piece down by 3.5% on Sensex.
