Asian markets end mostly higher

South Korea’s Kospi advanced 0.53% and Taiwan Weighted 0.12% higher. Strait Times was 0.26% higher.

Asian stock markets closed mostly higher on Wednesday after opening flat with early gains seeing consolidation as hopes raised again for stimulus deal from the US.
 
Chinese stocks are ended on a mixed note with Shanghai Composite down 0.09% while Set Composite was 0.35% higher.
  
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 added 0.33% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rose 0.75%. South Korea’s Kospi advanced 0.53% and Taiwan Weighted 0.12% higher. Strait Times was 0.26% higher.
 
Meanwhile, oil prices were lower with international benchmark Brent crude futures down about 0.66% to $42.50 per barrel.
 
Further, the Indian domestic indices are down in the afternoon trade. BSE Sensex is trading at 40,486.74 down 57.63 points or 0.14% and Nifty50 at 11,874.45 down 22.35 points or 0.19%.
