Bank of Baroda, Chola Fin, JSPL, PI Industries, SAIL to replace 5 stocks in Nifty Next 50 from Sept 30; Stocks soar

In the Nifty Next 50 index, the committee excluded five stocks. These are Abbott India, Alkem Lab, MRF, Petronet LNG and United Breweries.

The Index Maintenance Sub-Committee (Equity) of NSE Indices have decided to make changes in the eligibility criteria of Nifty indices and replacement of stocks in various indices as part of its periodic review.

In the Nifty Next 50 index, the committee excluded five stocks. These are Abbott India, Alkem Lab, MRF, Petronet LNG and United Breweries.

The above-mentioned 5 stocks will be replaced by Bank of Baroda, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company, Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL), PI Industries and Steel Authority of India (SAIL).

At around 2.56 pm, Bank of Baroda was trading higher by 3.1%, while Chola Fin surged 5.5%, JSPL jumped 2.7%, PI Industries zoomed 2% and SAIL advanced over 3.2%.

The changes will come into effect from September 30, 2021.
