ESSEC Business School: Ground breaking of a new campus in Singapore

Located at Nepal Hill in one-north, the new ESSEC campus in Asia finds its home nestled in the surroundings of Singapore’s integrated research business hub with Biopolis and Fusionopolis in its neighbourhood.

The US$40 million new campus of ESSEC Business School in Singapore marks the commencement of its construction with a groundbreaking ceremony on site yesterday. Located at Nepal Hill in one-north, the new ESSEC campus in Asia finds its home nestled in the surroundings of Singapore’s integrated research business hub with Biopolis and Fusionopolis in its neighbourhood.

Groundbreaking Ceremony
The occasion was graced by the Singapore Economic Development Board’s Managing Director, Mr Yeoh Keat Chuan in the presence of MrHeah Soon Poh, Assistant Chief Executive Officer (Cluster Development Group), JTC Corporation, 15 members of the International Advisory Board (IAB) of ESSEC Business School as well as Alumni, students representatives and ESSEC’s key partners. Members of IAB comprising top global corporate executives and academics are here for their annual meeting held in Singapore.
Yeoh said, “The establishment of ESSEC’s Asia-Pacific campus will help to address the region’s growing demand for management education, and equip future global leaders with the skills to drive business strategies in Asia. This campus is a valuable addition to Singapore’s LINK@Nepal Hill initiative, which aims to develop a cluster of business schools, professional services firms and corporate universities. These institutions can leverage one another’s strengths to generate new thinking and practices on talent and leadership development.”

Mr Heng Swee Keat, Minister for Education, opened the Forum at The Pod, National Library Building this evening. ESSEC International Forum presents a rare gathering of more than 100 senior leaders from global multinationals, governments and, large local and regional organisations to discuss howManagement Education can face the challenges of Globalisation Crisis and Sustainability. The Forum aims to examine current changing economic landscapes and set the scene for the development of a responsible Management Education for future leaders and managers, globally and, particularly in Asia-Pacific.
