Shares in European markets were trading on a mixed note on Thursday as investors are waiting for fresh developments in US-China trade talks amid concerns regarding global economic growth concerns.
As per a Bloomberg report, stocks on the Stoxx Europe 600 index were trading flat as fall in chemicals companies was offset by rising technology shares.
Further, investors are also worried over the partial federal government shutdown, which a top White House adviser said could see growth come to a halt this quarter. As earnings keep rolling in, traders must contend with a Senate vote Thursday on legislation to reopen the government, though it’s not clear that any measures will pass.
Besides, on the currency front, the yuan held overnight gains before key trade talks next week. The euro fell as economic data from France disappointed before Thursday’s European Central Bank rate decision.
