Godfrey Philips resumes manufacturing operations at Rabale plant for domestic sales; stock down ~1.5%

The company had resumed production at the Navi Mumbai plant last month for export purposes.

Godfrey Philips India Limited has resumed manufacturing of cigarettes at Rabale, Navi Mumbai plant for domestic sale as well in accordance with the guidelines of Unlock-4 issued by the Government of India.

The company had resumed manufacturing operations at the same plant a month ago to produce for export purposes. 

Godfrey Philips had suspended manufacturing operations in India due to the lockdown on account of the Novel Coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) from last week of March. 

The company’s wholly owned subsidiary International Tobacco Company Limited which does contract manufacturing exclusively for the company, had partially resumed its cigarette manufacturing operations in Mid-May with restricted capacity and manpower at its factory in Ghaziabad.

The company’s pan masala manufacturing plant at Ghaziabad resumed production from June 16.

Godfrey Phillips India Ltd is currently trading at Rs914.50, down by Rs13.2 or 1.42% from its previous closing of Rs927.70 on the BSE.
