Govt to sell bonds worth Rs. 160 billion on 16 August

India will sell Rs. 60 billion of 7.16% 2023 bonds and Rs. 40 billion of 7.28% 2019 bonds

The government of India will sell bonds worth Rs. 160 billion ($2.6 billion) on August 16, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said in a notification on Monday.

India will sell Rs. 60 billion of 7.16% 2023 bonds and Rs. 40 billion of 7.28% 2019 bonds, it added.

India will also sell Rs. 30 billion each of 8.28% 2032 bonds and 7.4% 2035 bonds.


Both competitive and non-competitive bids for the auction should be submitted in electronic format on the RBI Core Banking Solution (E-Kuber) system on August 16, 2013.

The result of the auctions will be announced on August 16, 2013 and payment by successful bidders will be on August 19, 2013. The stocks will qualify for the ready forward facility.
