Jayaswal Neco Industries' hits 52-week high despite reporting armed attack on Chhotedongar Iron Ore Mines

Jayaswal Neco Industries Limited hit 52-week high of Rs24.70 per piece during early trade on Tuesday despite an attack at the site of Chhotedongar Iron Ore Mines (Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh) of the company on July 3, 2021, by unidentified armed persons.

At around 10.08 am, Jayaswal Neco Industries Ltd was trading at 52-week high of Rs24.70 per piece up by Rs1.15 or 4.88% from its previous closing of Rs23.55 per piece on the BSE.

“This area is already affected by Left Wing Extremists. The attack caused the casualty of one person and significant damage to the property. The loss is currently being assessed,” company said in a filing on Monday.

The company said the attack is a set back to the company. It may cause significant delay in the commissioning of this mine as the development work at the mine is currently disrupted and can recommence only after the restoration of normalcy.

The company has reported the incident to the concerned authorities for action and security.
