Sajjan Jindal-promoted JSW group has chalked out a Rs.10,000 crore expansion plan to increase its Ports capacity by more than 6 times to touch Rs.200 million tonnes by the year 2020. Besides, the Jindals are looking at making several East coast acquisitions in a bid to reach the target of 200 MT from the existing 33MT at a 25% compounded annual growth rate every year.  Already the group runs two Ports in Maharashtra and two cargo berths in Goa.  It’s also erecting a terminal in Odisha’s Paradip Port. It recently signed a concession agreement with Maharashtra Government to build a railway line connecting Jaigarh Port with Konkan Railway. The expansion plan would be a blend of brownfield expansions, equations, enhanced connectivity for third party cargo and scaling up port wherewithal to accommodate large ships.
