Kirloskar Electric extends layoff of workmen at Hirehalli

The company extends the temporary lay-off of a total of 40 workmen for a period of three months.

Kirloskar Electric Company Limited’s unit situated at Hirehalli, Tumkur (unit-7) has extended lay off period of 33 workmen out of 80 workmen for a period of 90 days, with effect from September 11, 2021.

The company said in a separate filing that Hirehalli (Unit-07) has extended the lay off period of additional 07 workmen out of total of 80 workmen for a period of 90 days with effect from today.

The company had laid off its workmen at the Hirehalli and Budihyal plants from June 12, 2020, as a temporary arrangement due to Covid-19 impact and has sought many extensions form the concerned labour department thereafter.

Many workmen at Govenahalli unit are also under suspension since June 15, 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic impact.

At around 1.40 pm, Kirloskar Electric Company Ltd was trading at Rs18.05 per piece up by Rs0.2 or 1.12% from its previous closing of Rs17.85 per piece on the BSE.
