Kirloskar Electric reopens Unit 07 at Hirehalli, Tumkur; stock up 2%

The company has made an application to the concerned labour department to additionally lay off 08 workmen of company’s Unit for a period of 60 days.

Kirloskar Electric Company Limited on Wednesday intimated the exchanges regarding reopening of Unit 07 of the company located at Hirehalli, Tumkur and application for additional lay-off of 08 workmen.

“This is to inform that Unit 07 of the company located at Hirehalli, Tumkur has restarted its operation from today i.e., April 14, 2021.

Further, the company has made an application to the concerned labour department to additionally layoff 08 workmen of company’s Unit for a period of 60 days with effect from April 14, 2021,” company said.

The company last week had made an application to the concerned labour department to extend the partial lay-off period of 39 workmen of the company’s Unit located at Govenahalli up to May 19, 2021.

Earlier, it had applied to the concerned labour department for further extension for the partial lay-off for a further period of 60 days to 40 workmen of company’s Unit located at Govenahalli (Unit-1) in Bengaluru from January 20, 2021. Many workmen at Govenahalli unit are under suspension since June 15, 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic impact.

The company had also laid off its workmen at the Hirehalli, Tumkur and Budihyal plants from June 12, 2020, as a temporary arrangement due to Covid-19 impact and has sought many extensions thereafter.

At around 9.32 am, Kirloskar Electric Company Ltd was trading at Rs12.97 per piece up Rs0.24 or 1.89% near day's high of Rs13 per piece from its previous closing of Rs12.73 per piece on the BSE.
