M&M subsidiary inks MOU with MACP for providing real time agri advisory to the farming community

Mahindra Agri Solutions Limited (MASL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maharashtra Agriculture Competitiveness Project (MACP), a Government of Maharashtra initiative, to provide real time agri information to farmers. The MoU will use Mahindra’s digital platform, the MyAgriGuru App for dissemination of real-time agri-advisory and market information to Maharashtra’s farmers.

MACP is an initiative by the Government of Maharashtra and funded by the World Bank to increase productivity, profitability and market access of the farming community in Maharashtra. The project provides farmers with technical knowledge, market intelligence and market networks to support diversification and intensification of agriculture production aimed at responding to market demand.

The partnership boosts MASL’s contribution to the government’s endeavour to digitize the agricultural sector. Launched in February 2017, MyAgriGuru is described as being a unique platform that aims to connect all the farmers and agri-experts across the country on a single medium. It is one of the fastest growing apps in the agriculture space, having connected 380,000 farmers within one year of launch.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd ended at Rs743, down by Rs7.55 or 1.01% from its previous closing of Rs750.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs750.55 and touched a high and low of Rs752.5 and Rs741 respectively. A total of 13,62,129(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs92,462.45cr.
