MFs report net inflow of Rs. 3,403 cr in Feb: SEBI

During February 2014, mutual funds saw a net inflow of Rs. 3,403 crore as compared to a net inflow of Rs. 83,533 crore during January 2014, according to SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) data.
The private sector mutual funds attracted inflows of Rs. 2,231 crore, public sector mutual funds saw inflow of Rs.1,171 crore in February, the data showed.
The private sector mutual funds reported inflows of Rs. 71,270 crore whereas public sector mutual funds saw inflow of Rs. 12,263 crore during January 2014.
During the financial year 2013-14 so far, mutual funds net mobilised Rs. 1.63 trillion as compared to Rs. 1.84 trillion mobilized in corresponding period of 2012-13.
The market value of assets under management stood at Rs. 9.16 trillion as on February 28, 2014 as compared to Rs. 9.03 trillion as on January 31, 2014, indicating an increase of 1.5 percent.
S&P BSE Sensex closed at 21,120.1 on February 28, 2014, as against 20,513.9 on January 31, 2014, registering an increase of 606.3 points (3%). During February 2014, Sensex recorded an intraday high of 21,140.5 on February 28, 2014 and an intraday low of 19,963.1 on February 4, 2014.
