MFs report net inflows of Rs. 765 billion in FY13: SEBI

Private sector mutual funds reported a net outflow of Rs. 840.02 billion, while public sector mutual funds saw outflow of Rs. 240.44 billion in March 2013

Mutual funds reported net outflow of Rs. 1.08 trillion in the month of March 2013 compared to net inflow of Rs. 35.84 billion in February 2013, according to the latest SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) data.

Private sector mutual funds reported a net outflow of Rs. 840.02 billion, while public sector mutual funds saw outflow of Rs. 240.44 billion in March 2013, SEBI added.
In the month of February 2013, private mutual funds registered an inflow of Rs. 37.69 billion, whereas public sector mutual funds saw outflow of Rs. 1.85 billion.

During the financial year 2012-13, mutual funds net mobilised Rs. 765.39 billion against outflow of Rs. 220.24 billion in 2011-12. The market value of assets under management stood at Rs. 7.01 trillion as on March 28, 2013 compared with Rs. 8.13 trillion as on February 28, 2013, indicating a decrease of 13.8%.
