The Nifty Consumer Durables stretched its winning streak and advanced more than 500 points amid broader bullish markets tone on Thursday, Amber Enterprises and Voltas continued to emerge among the top gainers. While Kajaria Ceramics and Dixon also made substantial contribution to the gaining spree, by surging 3%. On the flipside, Crompton and Orient Electric were under pressure.
Indian equity benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading near day's high on Thursday led by buying across the board. Among sectors, most buying are seen in pharma, FMCG, consumer durables, banks, and financial services indices.
At around 1.15 pm, BSE Sensex was trading at 57,709.97 up 371.76 points or 0.65% and Nifty50 at 17,185.65 up 109.40 points or 0.64%.
The Nifty Consumer Durables was trading at 25,732.45 up 385.65 points or 1.52%, after touching a new 52-week high of 25,807.20 earlier today.
Amber rose 6% at Rs3,209.85 per piece to lead the performance. Voltas surged 3.5% at Rs1,082.25 per piece while Kajaria Ceramics gained 3.4% at Rs1,198.70 per piece. Dixon also rose 3% at Rs4,267.95 per piece.
Havells (up 2.43%), Whirpool (up 2.19%), and Titan (up 1.39%) also kept the gaining spree on to lift the performance of the Index. Bluestar and Relaxo also gained over 1%. Bata India was also higher.
Crompton dragged the most at Rs481.75 per piece, down 1.27%. Oreint Electric shed more than 1% at Rs327.90 per piece. TTK Prestige was also 0.95% lower while VGuard was 0.82% in the red. Rajesh Exports traded flat.
