RBI, bank branches to accept advance income tax

Among the banks include: Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda and Bank of India

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and selected branches of banks will accept advance income tax.
Most of these banks are also providing facilities for on-line payment of taxes. The assessees may take advantage of these arrangements for their convenience, RBI said in a notification on Thursday.
Among the banks include: Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank, IDBI Bank, Indian Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank.
