Rupee trades higher by 8 paise against US Dollar

The Indian rupee gained in the morning hours on mild selling of the greenback by exporters and a higher opening in the domestic equity market.

After opening flat, the Indian rupee gained in the morning on mild selling of the greenback by exporters and a higher opening in the domestic equity market. The rupee gained 8 paise at 71.15 against US Dollar. The 10-year bond yield was trading at 7.468%.

However, the dollar rose from a three-week low overseas as investors grew cautious about US-China trade talks.

The local unit on Wednesday dropped by 17 paise to close at 71.24/$ amid a flare-up of tensions between India and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the Sensex is up 62 points at 35,967, while the Nifty was up 20 points to 10,827.
