SEBI resolves 27 lakh complaints in FY11-12

The cumulative number of investor grievances received by SEBI stood at about 28.34 lakh at the end of 2012, of which over 27 lakh complaints were resolved successfully

Market regulator SEBI’s (Securities and Exchange Board of India) online system—to resolve investors’ complaints against companies in the capital market—has achieved a new record of a successful grievance redressal rate of over 95%.

SCORES (Sebi COmplaints REdress System) facilitates investors to lodge your complaint online with SEBI and subsequently view its status. SCORES is a centralised online system for lodging and tracking complaints.

The cumulative number of investor grievances received by SEBI stood at about 28.34 lakh at the end of 2012, of which over 27 lakh complaints were resolved successfully—which is 95.3% redressal rate, according to the data compiled by the regulator for its latest Handbook on Securities Markets.

The data for the financial year ended 31 March 2013 is not yet available.

During April-December 2012, a total of 33,832 investor complaints were redressed, up from 29,058 redressals in the same period of FY11-12. The number of grievances received by the regulator during April-December 2012 was 24,277.
