Overseas direct investment by Indian companies stood at US$5.58bn in April 2014, much lower than in the year-ago period.

Merger and acquisition activities of Indian companies rose to US$6.9bn and witnessed 49 deals, a Grant Thornton report said. The M&A market saw 42 deals worth US$1.8bn in the same month last year. (BS)

Overseas direct investment by Indian companies stood at US$5.58bn in April 2014, much lower than in the year-ago period. The FDI by companies was US$15.24bn in April, 2013, the data of the Reserve Bank of India showed. (ET)
