US equity funds estimate outflows of $586mn in latest week

Total estimated inflows to long-term mutual funds in US were $4.04 billion for the week ended Wednesday, August 27, the Investment Company Institute reported today.
Equity funds had estimated outflows of $586 million for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $2.67 billion in the previous week. Domestic equity funds had estimated outflows of $2.21 billion, and estimated inflows to world equity funds were $1.62 billion.
Hybrid funds, which can invest in stocks and fixed-income securities, had estimated inflows of $942 million for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $821 million in the previous week.
Bond funds had estimated inflows of $3.69 billion, compared to estimated inflows of $5.00 billion during the previous week. Taxable bond funds saw estimated inflows of $2.95 billion, and municipal bond funds had estimated inflows of $731 million.
