Premier Wellness organization VLCC, in association with industry body CII, the Union Finance Ministry co-promoted National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), and the Beauty and Wellness Sector Skill Council, has taken on the responsibility for choosing the Indian contestant for the Beauty Therapy discipline for the 43rd WorldSkills competition to be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in August 2015.

As part of the selection process, VLCC, in collaboration with its partner organizations, will be holding the WorldSkills Regional Selections in Mumbai and Delhi between July 07 and July 20.

The winners of the Regional Selections across the different centers will be shortlisted for the National Selections which will be held later to decide who would finally be representing the country in the Beauty Therapy category at WorldSkills 2015.

Explaining the rationale behind VLCCs decision to be involved with the WorldSkills selection process, VLCC Group Founder & Vice-Chairperson Vandana Luthra said: As an organization committed to the skills cause and make the pursuit of skills training an aspirational exercise in order to promote social inclusion and youth empowerment in India, we feel the WorldSkills competition provides the best platform to the young men and women of this country to display what they are capable of and also benchmark themselves against their counterparts from the rest of the world.

VLCC will also be involved in the training and mentoring of the Indian representative for the skill of Beauty Therapy at the WorldSkills 2015 competition to ensure that the contestant can do the country proud at the event, Luthra added.

Held once every two years, the WorldSkills event organized by the not-for-profit organization WorldSkills International - is globally considered the most prestigious skills competition for people under the age of 22. India has been participating in WorldSkills competitions since 2007.
