23 Oct 2024 , 09:58 AM

NSE has banned trading in 12 stocks on October 23 in the futures and options (F&O) segment.

The ban was enforced as these stocks exceeded 95% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL). Despite the F&O ban, these stocks can still be traded in the cash market.

The stocks in the F&O ban list include:

  • Aarti Industries
  • Bandhan Bank
  • Birlasoft
  • Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals
  • GNFC
  • India Energy Exchange
  • Indiamart Intermesh
  • L&T Finance
  • Manappuram Finance
  • Piramal Enterprises
  • PNB
  • RBL Bank

NSE updates the F&O ban list daily, and stocks exceeding 95% of MWPL are placed under the ban. During the ban period, traders can only reduce their positions, and no new positions can be initiated. Any attempt to increase open positions during the ban will result in penalties and disciplinary actions, as stated by the NSE.
