Malaysia Airlines and IndiGo, a low-cost local carrier, have signed an initial codeshare agreement to improve connectivity between the two nations.
Additionally, according to a statement from IndiGo, a collaboration agreement between the two airlines will allow them to provide passengers more choices and flexibility for hassle-free travel between Malaysia and India.
As the marketing airline on IndiGo-operated flights, Malaysia Airlines will be able to deepen its relationship with India through this partnership, while IndiGo passengers will have the opportunity to visit more Southeast Asian locations thanks to Malaysia Airlines’ vast network, the statement reads.
According to IndiGo, this reciprocal agreement would let both carriers offer their clients smooth connections in addition to an integrated travel schedule and other benefits.
Nine important Indian hubs, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, and Trivandrum, are served by Malaysia Airlines’ 71 weekly flights.
“We are excited to sign this Memorandum of Understanding with IndiGo to expand our reach beyond the nine hubs we currently operate within India, as India is our largest international market,” stated Izham Ismail, Group Managing Director of Malaysia Aviation Group.
