Bharat Electronics Secures Rs 580 Crore Indian Army Order for Radar Tech

On December 6, Bharat Electronics (BEL) announced a Rs 580 crore order from the Indian Army for the supply of artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) for radars. The project involves the collaboration of Indian electronics and associated industries, including MSMEs, serving as sub-vendors for BEL, according to a regulatory filing by the company.

BEL’s shares experienced a 2.80 % decline, closing at Rs 156.20 on the same day.

Since the last disclosure on September 15, 2023, BEL has received additional orders totaling Rs 3,335 crore. These orders encompass AMC for AEW&C system, Uncooled TI sights, Software Defined Radios, SWIR payload, AMC for IACCS, Passive Night Vision Binoculars, among others.

In the current financial year 2023-24, BEL has cumulatively secured orders amounting to Rs 18,298 crore. The company emphasizes that all the equipment manufactured is part of the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ program.
