The 240,000 barrel per day (bpd) Mumbai refinery in western India will be put out of commission for a month starting on September 21 for maintenance, according to a company spokesperson for India’s Bharat Petroleum Corp who talked to ET.
According to news reports, the refiner intends to shut down several units at the refinery, including a fluid catalytic cracker (FCCU), continuous catalytic reformer, and catalytic cracker.
A bitumen unit nearby would also be shut down by the refiner for 15 days starting in mid-August, he added.
At its 310,000 bpd Kochi refinery in southern India, state-controlled BPCL also intends to shut down an FCCU, a diesel hydro desulphurizer, and a vacuum gas oil hydrotreater for 12 days starting on August 22, he said.
