IndiGo plane flying the Bengaluru-Ahmedabad route experienced a tail strike as it touched down at the airport in Ahmedabad. This was the second time in the previous five days that this had happened, according to a DGCA official. According to news reports, the Directorate General Civil Aviation has ordered that the pilots of the accident-damaged aircraft be grounded.
‘There has been a reported tail strike. Pilot rostering has been halted by the DGCA, the official stated.
He stated that the DGCA had also asked for an investigation into the occurrence.
In a statement, IndiGo acknowledged the occurrence and stated that the plane had been grounded for an examination.
‘Tail strike occurred during the landing in Ahmedabad of IndiGo aircraft 6E6595, which was travelling from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad. At the airport in Ahmedabad, the plane was told it needed to be grounded for inspection and maintenance. According to the airline’s statement, the incident is the subject of an inquiry by the appropriate authorities.
Another tail strike occurred on June 11 when an IndiGo Airbus A321 arrived from Kolkata to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The DGCA ordered IndiGo to remove the flight’s cockpit crew after this event.
