Hyundai has introduced the updated Creta, starting at Rs 11 lakh for the base E petrol-manual model and going up to Rs 20 lakh for the top-of-the-line SX(O) diesel-automatic trim. But keep in mind that these are promotional prices. With the 2024 Creta makeover, there are five engine and gearbox options, for a total of 19 versions available.
The front and rear looks of Hyundai’s 2024 Creta have been entirely redesigned. Hyundai refers to the larger grille up front as having parametric elements, and a new lighting arrangement complements it.
Positioned lower on the bumper, the main quad-LED headlamps are divided, with LED Daytime Running Lamps, sequential indicators and a light bar above the grille completing the set. Additionally, new scuff plates help to lessen the polarising appearance of the front end compared to before the facelift.
With this update, Hyundai has also gone above and beyond to give the Creta a new dashboard. The centrepiece is a 10.25-inch touchscreen that integrates with the Alcazar’s new 10.25-inch digital driver display (software upgrade required). When the indication is turned on, the screen switches between three themes and shows images from the blind-view monitor.
The only addition to the back of the cabin is a new set of USB Type-C charging ports, which is about all that has changed. The boot capacity, which is 433 litres, is unchanged.
A motorised driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, an onboard air purifier, an electronic parking brake, a two-step adjustable rear seat backrest, rear sunshades, and pillows for the headrests and rear seat are just a few of the comfort and convenience features. The tech suite is equally remarkable.
There are also safety enhancements for the new Creta. All models come with six airbags as standard equipment, while higher-spec vehicles also include radar and camera-based ADAS. The 19 ADAS capabilities are comprised of technologies including adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane keep assist, auto emergency braking, and more.
The new 160 horsepower, 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine, which replaces the discontinued 140 horsepower, 1.4-liter turbo-petrol unit, is the only significant mechanical change on the Creta facelift. It is exclusively compatible with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The 1.5-liter gasoline and 1.5-liter diesel engines with 115 and 116 horsepower, respectively, and manual and automatic gearbox choices, remain the same.
The current pricing of the facelifted Creta falls in the middle of the midsize SUV market, with the Citroen C3 Aircross and Maruti Grand Vitara having lower beginning prices. The top-of-the-line petrol-automatic Creta is one of the priciest models available, but the diesel version is almost as pricey as the Kia Seltos diesel.
