The world’s largest streaming service, Netflix, has increased its ambition to succeed in the cloud gaming market and is looking for experts to compete with services like Sony PlayStation Now, Google Stadia, Apple Arcade, and Amazon Luna.
The streaming service is recruiting for a renderer engineer who can assist Netflix’s “cloud gaming service,” a security product manager with experience tackling “cloud gaming difficulties,” and other relevant positions.
Recently, Netflix released “Into the Breach” and “Before Your Eyes” as mobile games.
Less than 1% of its members, however, play games on their mobile devices.
By the end of the year, Netflix hopes to have at least 50 videogame releases available.
According to app analytics company Apptopia, less than 1% of Netflix’s more than 221 million subscribers, or 1.7 million people on average per day, are playing the games.
The platform is pushing into video games more quickly. The corporation has been releasing the games to keep consumers interested in between episodes of shows since last November.
Only subscribers have access to the games, which must be downloaded as separate apps.
TikTok and Epic Games are two of Netflix’s main competitors.
