Adani Wind, a division of Adani New Industries (ANIL), plans to invest Rs 2,000 crore for 5 GW wind energy capacity in 5 years. The capacity will be increased to 10 GW by 2030, in four phases of expansion. Currently, Adani Wind has a capacity of 1.5 GW and plans to reach 5 GW annually in the next 5 years.
They aim to expand their markets to countries like the USA, Brazil, MENASA, Sri Lanka, Australia, and India, targeting 1-12 GW annual markets. Adani Wind’s 5.2 MW wind turbine generator is now commercially available and has received type certification from Germany’s WindGuard GmbH.
They have invested Rs 300 crore in setting up a wind turbine generator manufacturing facility in Mundra, Gujarat. Adani Wind plans to establish a technology center in Germany within the next six months to develop wind energy solutions and stay ahead in the global market.
The company is optimistic about the wind energy sector and anticipates growth, especially with potential government policies supporting the repowering of wind power projects.
