Tata Consumer may buy Bisleri for Rs 6,000—7,000 crore

24 Nov 2022 , 03:40 PM

According to reports, Bisleri International would be purchased by Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) for approximately Rs 6,000—7,000 crore. A study claims that Ramesh Chauhan, chairman of Bisleri International, lacks a successor to advance Bisleri.
In FY23, Bisleri, the largest packaged water company in India, is anticipated to have a profit of Rs 220 crore on sales of Rs 2,500 crore. Although selling Bisleri is a "painful" choice, Chauhan assured in the reports that the Tata Group will "nurture and take even better care of it."
Despite the animosity of other interested bidders, he continued, "I made my choice because I admire the Tata culture of principles and integrity. Chauhan won't own a tiny portion of the company. He would focus on humanitarian initiatives and the environment, like recycling plastic and collecting rainwater.

According to reports, Chauhan and his brother Prakash sold their whole portfolio to Coca-Cola in 1993. Brands like Citra, RimZim, and Maaza were also present, in addition to Thums Up and Limca. Under the names Himalayan and Tata Copper Plus, TCPL provides packaged mineral water.
"Even I am unsure of what I will do with the money, but allow me to be clear. I was more concerned about locatinglocate a home that would take care of it as I did than just the value I am getting for it. I founded this company with passion, and today its staff members manage it with the same zeal "Added Chauhan.
