The Civil Aviation Ministry said, “the operations of domestic schedule commercial airlines shall cease with effect from the midnight that is 23:59 hours IST (Indian Standard Time) on March 24, 2020.”
The civil aviation ministry has also said no domestic flights will operate from midnight of Tuesday, a development that comes as the country goes into lockdown mode in an effort to control the spread of coronavirus.
India has already banned international flights for a week from Sunday.
SpiceJet Ltd is currently trading at Rs31.85, down by Rs1.65 or 4.93% from its previous closing of Rs33.50 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs32.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs32.15 and Rs31.85 respectively.
Interglobe Aviation Ltd is currently trading at Rs839.50, down by Rs10.55 or 1.24% from its previous closing of Rs850.05 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs825 and has touched a high and low of Rs843 and Rs765.05 respectively.
