L&T Construction bags large contracts for its various businesses; L&T stock up 4%

The construction arm of (Larsen a Toubro) L&T has secured orders from prestigious clients for its varied businesses. The company has won a series of large orders in the range of Rs2,500-5,000cr.

The stock is currently trading at Rs962.65, up by Rs55.4 or 6.11% from its previous closing of Rs907.25 on the BSE.

The Transportation Infrastructure business has secured an EPC contract to construct Packages 11 and 22 of the Delhi Vadodara Expressway, which when completed will be the country's longest expressway of National Highways Authority of India under its flagship Bharat Mala program. The scope of work broadly includes 8 lane greenfield expressway of 36 Kms with perpetual pavement, service/slip roads, interchanges, ROB, major/minor bridges, vehicular/pedestrian/cattle underpasses and animal underpasses/overpasses.

The business has secured another EPC contract from the Public Works (Roads) Directorate, Government of West Bengal for the reconstruction of 4 lane Tallah ROB (Hemanta Setu) adjacent to Tallah Railway Station on Barrackpore Trunk Road, Kolkata, West Bengal. The scope of work includes the reconstruction of 4 lane Tallah ROB and viaduct connecting both ends Shyam Bazar a Dunlop, including Chitpur Ramp.

The Water & Effluent Treatment business of L&T Construction has secured engineering, procurement and construction orders from State Water a Sanitation Mission, Uttar Pradesh, to implement water supply schemes for Shivhar and Parasi group of villages in Mahoba and Sonbadhra districts respectively. The aggregate scope of the two projects includes design a construction of three intake structures, three water treatment plants of capacity 64 MLD, 1171 Km of transmission and distribution pipelines, 20 clear water reservoirs, 37 overhead service reservoirs, 20 pump houses, 73600 house service connections, associated electromechanical an instrumentation works.

The project also involves automation including measurement of input an output water quantity and quality through suitable SCADA a other instrumentation works.

The projects are designed to cater safe a potable drinking water to 3.78 lakh rural population in the aforesaid districts of UP. These are part of a larger programme of the State Government to provide piped drinking water to every rural household.
