Nifty Realty trades 1.5% higher despite trimming gains; Sobha, DLF and Godrej Properties surge over 2%

Sunteck Realty and Oberoi Realty were also bullish. Prestige was the only stock under pressure on the Nifty Reality Index.

Nifty Realty was over 1.5% higher despite trimming gains amidst volatile trade in the afternoon. Going by the overall trends, the Index reversed yesterday’s losses to support the market rally on Friday.

SobhaDLF and Godrej Properties surged over 2% to lift the performance of the sector while Sunteck Realty, and Oberoi Realty were also bullish. Prestige was the only stock under pressure on Nifty Reality Index.

The markets witnessed buying activity on Friday with the focus shifting to quarterly earnings. However, in the afternoon the indices saw volatile trade and gave away most of the morning gains. 

At around 2.50 pm, BSE Sensex was trading at 57,404.76 up 127.82 points or 0.22% and Nifty50 at 17,167.00 up 56.85 points or 0.33%. Nifty Realty was trading at 469.50 up 7.40 points or 1.60%, touching a high of 478.10 and low of 466.85 during intraday trade on Friday.

Sobha climbed 2.25% higher at Rs868.70 per piece to outperform. DLF and Godrej Properties were 2.08% higher at Rs381.95 per piece and Rs1,643.50 per piece respectively. Sunteck Realty was also nearly 2% higher while Oberoi Realty advanced 1.87%. Indiabulls Realestate and Lodha advanced around 1.6% each. Brigade and Phoenix Mills were over 1% higher. 

Prestige shed 1.3% at Rs485.60 per piece to underperform. It was the only stock trading in the red.
