Taxable govt funds in US rises by $6.6bn in latest week

Assets of retail money market funds decreased by $4.16 billion to $915.85 billion

Total money market mutual fund assets increased by $19.96 billion to $2.684 trillion for the week ending Wednesday, February 26, the Investment Company Institute reported on Wednesday.

Taxable government funds increased by $6.60 billion, taxable non-government funds increased by $14.42 billion, and tax-exempt funds decreased by $1.06 billion.

Retail: Assets of retail money market funds decreased by $4.16 billion to $915.85 billion. Taxable government money market fund assets in the retail category decreased by $1.37 billion to $198.20 billion, taxable non-government money market fund assets decreased by $2.18 billion to $523.46 billion, and tax-exempt fund assets decreased by $600 million to $194.19 billion.
 
Institutional: Assets of institutional money market funds increased by $24.11 billion to $1.768 trillion. Among institutional funds, taxable government money market fund assets increased by $7.96 billion to $750.60 billion, taxable non-government money market fund assets increased by $16.60 billion to $941.51 billion, and tax-exempt fund assets decreased by $450 million to $75.66 billion.
