Bharat Electronics Bags New Orders Worth ₹572 Crore

19 May 2025 , 12:01 PM

Navratna public sector defence enterprise Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) on Thursday said that it has secured fresh orders of ₹572 crore.

The contracts just secured cover high-tech defence solutions including:

  • IDDIS (Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction Systems)
  • Software Defined Radios (SDR)
  • Data Communication Unit (DCU) for assault weapons
  • AI-enabled systems for maritime applications
  • Simulators, communication systems, jammers, parts and other technical services

The orders underscore BEL’s continued focus on bringing in and indigenising new technologies, aligning with the Government’s “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” initiative.

The larger order book further solidifies the company’s stance as a leading defence electronics supplier with a growing portfolio of new-age combat and surveillance solutions for the Indian Armed Forces. This comes after BEL had previously bagged ₹2,210 crore defence project in April 2025 from the Ministry of Defence.

That deal pertains to the Mi-17V5 helicopters of the Indian Air Force for EW (Electronic Warfare) suites.

The EW suites include:

  • Radar Warning Receivers (RWR)
  • Missile Approach Warning Systems.
  • Counter Measure Dispersal Equipment (DCM)

These vital defence systems are designed by DRDO’s Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS) and Integrated Defence Combat Systems (CASDIC), and produced and integrated by BEL. It is intended to improve the survivability of helicopters by detecting and then neutralising radar and missile threats in hostile territory.

Following the announcement, shares of Bharat Electronics Ltd has gained 0.73% on May 19, 2025. BEL shares has gained 33% in the last one year, and 22% in the last one month.
