Blinkit, the quick-commerce arm of Zomato, introduces a new feature allowing customers to return or exchange footwear and clothing within 10 minutes of delivery. This feature addresses “size anxiety,” a common concern in fashion, enhancing the customer experience.
Co-founder Albinder Dhindsa announced the initiative on X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing its potential to solve size-related issues in clothing and footwear categories.
The return/exchange feature was initially trialed in Delhi-NCR and has now been rolled out in major cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune, with plans for further expansion.
Blinkit’s service reflects a growing trend in quick commerce, expanding offerings beyond groceries to include apparel, home appliances, beauty products, and electronics.
Competitors like Instamart and Zepto are also diversifying, blurring the line between quick-commerce and traditional e-commerce platforms.
Zepto, Blinkit’s main competitor, offers a 72-hour exchange policy for defective or damaged apparel items. Blinkit and its rivals now stock products from major brands such as Adidas, Pepe, FabIndia, Jockey, Boldfit, XYXX, US Polo Association, Paragon, and Liberty, marking their expansion into the fashion sector.
