GM Breweries Ltd saw a 30% quarter-on-quarter decline in net profit in the fourth quarter of FY24, with earnings down to ₹60.5 crore from ₹86.6 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Operations revenue increased 6% year on year to ₹169.3 crore in the quarter ending March 31, 2024. Operational performance EBITDA came 17% higher in the quarter at ₹29 crore. Operating margin is reported by the company to have moved to 17.2% in Q4 FY24 from 15.5% for the comparable quarter last fiscal year.
The board of GM Breweries has recommended a final dividend of ₹7.5 per equity share, being 75% of the face value, for FY24, subject to approval at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting. The company remains committed to the mass-market segment with low-cost, high-volume liquor brands catering to price-conscious consumers.
GM Breweries is a market leader in Maharashtra’s country liquor business with its operations based primarily in the state. The firm has its plant at Thane in Maharashtra and has extensive territorial presence. The firm sells well-known brands like G.M. Santra, G.M. Doctor, and G.M. Limbu Punch in the country liquor and Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) categories.
