NTPC Ltd. announced on 5th November 2024 that its board of directors approved investments in three super thermal power projects, totaling an estimated ₹79,738.45 Crore.
The approved projects include the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project Phase-II (3×800 MW) at ₹29,344.85 Crore, the Gadarwara Super Thermal Power Project Stage-II (2×800 MW) at ₹20,445.69 Crore, and the Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project Stage-II (3×800 MW) at ₹29,947.91 Crore.
NTPC reported a 19.6% increase in net profit for the September quarter, achieving ₹4,648 Crore compared to ₹3,885 Crore in the same period last year. Quarterly revenue fell by 1.3% YoY to ₹40,327.6 Crore from ₹40,875 Crore the previous year.
The EBITDA declined by 8.2% YoY to ₹9,676.4 Crore from ₹10,537 Crore. The EBITDA margin dropped to 24% from 25.7%.
NTPC, India’s largest power generator under the Ministry of Power, had an installed power capacity of 76,443 MW as of September 30, 2024, up from 73,824 MW the prior year. The company’s standalone installed capacity also increased to 59,168 MW from 57,838 MW year-over-year.
