Polycab Ltd., a leading manufacturer of wires and cables, recently announced its position as the lowest bidder (L1) for a significant contract awarded by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL), marking its second order in two consecutive days.
The latest order involves the design, development, upgrading, and maintenance of the Middle Mile Network for Bharat Net’s Package 7 in Bihar under a Design, Build, Operate, and Maintain (DBOM) model.
Valued at ₹1,549 Crore, the project is expected to be completed within a three-year timeframe. Additionally, the maintenance contract is set for 10 years, with compensation at 5.5% of capital expenditure per year for the first five years and 6.5% per year for the remaining five.
Over the past two days, Polycab has secured contracts totaling approximately ₹5,650 Crore from BSNL. The initial order, valued at ₹4,099 Crore, covered similar services for the Middle Mile Network in Karnataka, Goa, and Puducherry.
