Sensex and Nifty in Red

In today’s market, the Indian benchmark Indices Sensex and Nifty are trading in red at the time of writing on September 5, 2024 at 2:22 pm.

The Sensex experienced a decline of 129 points, equivalent to a 0.16% drop, trading at 82,223. Similarly, the Nifty index fell by 41 points, representing a 0.16% decrease, settling at 25,157 by the end of the trading session.

Within the Nifty index, a total of 1568 stocks advanced, showcasing positive movement, while 838 stocks declined.

Among the top-gainer stocks in the Sensex, companies like Titan Company, Hero Motocorp, Wipro, LTIMindtree, BPCL, Divis Labs, Adani Enterprises, ITC, State Bank of India (SBI), and Hindalco registered notable gains, contributing positively to the index. Top losers include Nestle, Bajaj Fiannce, Reliance, Tata Motors, Larsen, JSW Steel, Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank. Sun Pharma and Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) hit their 52-week highs.

In the Nifty, some of the top-performing stocks were Titan Company, Wipro, ITC, SBI, Axis Bank, Tata Steel, Asian Paints, Power Grid Corporation, Infosys, and HDFC Bank. On the other hand, Top losers include Nestle, Britannia, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finance, Cipla, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Industries, JSW Steel, and HCL Technologies. Divis Labs, Shriram Finance, Apollo Hospital, Sun Pharma, and Hindustan hits 52 week high.

At the time of writing, the BSE Mid Cap index showed a 0.44% gain, reflecting growth in mid-cap stocks. Additionally, the BSE Small Cap index was trading with a 0.66% gain.
