Swiggy Bolt Expands 10-Minute Food Delivery to 400+ Cities Nationwide

Swiggy’s Bolt has expanded its 10-minute food delivery service to over 400 cities and towns in India within two months of its launch. Bolt delivers food requiring minimal or no preparation from over 40,000 restaurants, offering 10 lakh+ menu items within a 2-kilometer delivery radius.

Initially launched on October 4 in cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune, Bolt now includes Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Indore, Coimbatore, Kochi, and Tier 2/3 cities like Roorkee, Guntur, Warangal, and Shillong.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana lead in Bolt adoption, followed by Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Punjab.

Safety Measures: Delivery executives are unaware of Bolt orders to avoid incentivizing faster deliveries, focusing instead on prioritizing nearby drivers and optimizing speed.

Partner restaurants tailor Bolt-compatible menus with low or zero preparation time, ensuring efficiency. National chains like KFC, McDonald’s, Burger King, and Starbucks participate, alongside local favorites like Gwalia Sweets in Ahmedabad, Shiraz in Kolkata, and MM Mithaiwala in Mumbai.

Tier 2 city partners like Varalakshmi Tiffins in Guntur and Akhshay Tiffins in Mangalore see over 10% of their orders via Bolt.

Swiggy CEO Rohit Kapoor highlights Bolt’s success in revolutionizing food delivery with rapid expansion fueled by customer and restaurant enthusiasm. The trend reflects rising consumer expectations for instant service, aligning with quick commerce preferences. Rival Zomato discontinued its 10-minute delivery service, Zomato Instant, in early 2023, after testing it in select cities.
