Tata Group forms strategic alliance with Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) to explore semiconductor manufacturing opportunities in India.
Partnership includes Tata Electronics, Tata Motors, and Tejas Networks, signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ADI for collaboration.
This collaboration aims to enhance India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem, targeting both domestic and global markets. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, emphasized Tata’s commitment to establishing a thriving semiconductor industry in India through this partnership.
Vincent Roche, CEO of ADI, highlighted the potential to accelerate technological advancements, from electric vehicles to next-gen network infrastructure.
Tata Electronics plans to build India’s first semiconductor fab in Dholera, Gujarat, with a $11 billion investment. It also plans to invest $3 billion in a greenfield facility in Assam for semiconductor chip assembly and testing.
The alliance will explore manufacturing ADI products at Tata’s fab in Gujarat and OSAT in Assam, strengthening India’s semiconductor capabilities.
Tata Motors and ADI will explore engagement in electronics hardware for energy storage and power electronics in vehicles.
Tejas Networks and ADI aim to collaborate on network infrastructure hardware, leveraging ADI’s technology across Tata’s various applications.
