Zomato launched a new service called “Pure Veg mode” catering exclusively to pure vegetarian customers.
CEO Deepinder Goyal announced the introduction of this service along with a “Pure Veg Fleet” to accommodate 100% vegetarian dietary preferences.
The decision was made based on feedback from vegetarian customers. However, the move received both praise and criticism from users online.
The “Pure Veg Mode” features restaurants serving only vegetarian food, excluding non-vegetarian options. Initially, Zomato planned to implement color segregation, with green for the vegetarian fleet, but later reverted to red for all riders. Goyal acknowledged feedback and concerns, promising to roll back any negative social repercussions swiftly.
Deepinder Goyal has underscored the significance of catering to India’s dietary preferences, especially considering the large population of vegetarians in the country. He views the introduction of the ‘Pure Veg Fleet’ as a crucial step towards ensuring that all customers, irrespective of their dietary choices, can access a convenient and gratifying dining experience.
Goyal’s focus on customer satisfaction reflects Zomato’s dedication to serving its diverse user base effectively. By prioritizing the dietary needs and preferences of its customers, Zomato demonstrates its commitment to being customer-centric and providing inclusive services.
