Adani Power Limited announced that it has received a contract to supply 1,500 MW thermal power. The company plans to supply thermal power to Uttar Pradesh at a levelised tariff of ₹5.383 per unit.
Adani Power emerged as the lowest bidder in a competitive tender process.
The company informed the bourses and shareholders that the power will be supplied from a greenfield ultra-supercritical thermal power plant having a 1,500 MW net capacity, with a 2×800 MW configuration.
The company plans to set up projects under the Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) model.
The proposed project has an investment value of ₹16,600 Crore (approximately $2 Billion). It received the formal clearance from the Uttar Pradesh cabinet earlier this month. After the issuance of Letter of Award (LoA), Adani Power will ink a long-term Power Supply Agreement (PSA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL).
As per the company, this is the second major PSA bid that the company has secured over the last year. Earlier, it received the composite 6,600 MW (1,600 MW thermal and 5000 MW solar) LoI from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) in September 2024. Subsequently, it was converted into a PSA.
