Gensol Engineering’s share price rises in early trade on November 16 after being identified as the lowest bidder for an EPC contract for a pioneering green hydrogen mobility station in Kargil, Ladakh.
The company secured the project in collaboration with Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd., showcasing technocommercial competency. The project is commissioned by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).
Gensol will develop a 500-kW grid-connected solar power project to supply energy to the hydrogen refueling station. Matrix will handle the engineering, procurement, and commissioning of dual electrolysers, each with a 30 NM3 capacity.
The project’s scope includes complete balance of plant EPC, covering the installation of the green hydrogen system, storage, dispensing facilities, and necessary civil and electrical infrastructure for the integrated solar and hydrogen operation in Ladakh.
Gensol is working on behalf of NHPC, ensuring a minimum green hydrogen purity of 99.97%. The project is expected to be completed within 12 months from the issuance of the work order. In October, Gensol secured a contract worth Rs 301.5 crore from Maharashtra State Power Generation Co Ltd (Mahagenco) for the installation and commissioning of a solar power plant.
